Prof. Col. (Rtd) Dr. Shormin Ara Ferdousi is a renowned pediatric oncologist and bone marrow transplant specialist in Bangladesh, with a career dedicated to advancing treatment for childhood cancers and blood disorders like thalassemia. She holds an MBBS, DCH, FCPS (Pediatrics), and has specialized training in pediatric oncology and bone marrow transplantation from Tata Medical Centre and People Tree Hospitals in India.
Prof. Col. (Rtd) Dr. Shormin Ara Ferdousi made history as the first-ever pediatric bone marrow transplant specialist in Bangladesh, successfully performing the country’s first pediatric bone marrow transplant. She is also the pioneer in performing bone marrow transplants for thalassemia patients in Bangladesh, providing life-saving treatment for many children.
Currently, she serves as the Professor and Head of Pediatric Oncology at Gonoshasthaya Nagar Hospital, Dhanmondi. She previously led the Pediatric Oncology Department at Combined Military Hospital (CMH), Dhaka. Prof. Col.
